In Kirsten James's script "Just a Load of Baloney" describe the different taste of sexuality of Toby, a slim teenager with short dyed hair that had punched by a skinny guy, Jared, while he was on the grass. Throughout the story, the author uses the third person omniscient point of view to describe the boy's surroundings and to show us both what he and the other characters are thinking and what is happening around him.
By using the third person omniscient point of view, the narrator can give us a detailed and unbiased description of his surroundings while still retaining part of the character's view of reality. "He is faggot!" We are given Jared's view of Toby's sexual orientation. Additionally, the sentence "Hassan leaves in a hurry. Toby looks annoyed as he watches him walk away." We can tell what Toby's feeling.
Those underlined words demonstrate a fine use of the third-person point of view. "He" is show us the character was talking about Toby. "Hassan & Toby" Kirsten James presents two characters from the third person point of view.
The theme of the story is shown mainly through Toby's relationship with other characters. Such themes that are well developed include social issue and non-Traditional theme; physical "He opens the desk drawer and pulls out a bulky sandwich loaded with baloney.", social "Toby and Hassan look at each other. Toby smiles, grabs Hassan’s arm and they take off down the hall.", devine "Allah forbids homosexuality. If I accept you, I reject Allah.", egoism "Don’t you touch me!", and organic "Wow. This homo stuff even sucks for you and your not even gay!"
