Hello there, welcome back. Today I want to share my essay about drama script entitled AMY by Eric Chandler. The story tells about the woman named Amy who was living alone with her terrible feeling that caused by her depression. You can read it first at the link above;)
In this script, I will show you about the author using implicit in his script. For your information, implicit is an adjective that describes some information that the person hints at but doesn't say directly. But also there is explicit, an adjective that describes information that is stated directly and clearly, without any questions about the meaning. Those types known as stylistic in literary works. Before we can say that the language is implicit we have to find the diction. More information, diction is the way we as a readers interprets the language when we act in drama play.
There are a lot of diction that shows implicit.
- "Rain pours down on a house." In this diction the word 'rain' is tells about sadness and 'the house' is representative of the character itself that living in a loneliness.
- "AMY, a fragile beaten down by the world woman in her late 20's..." In this diction the author tells the readers that the character Amy is like a fragile glass who has beaten down by the world or in another meaning Amy have delicate and broke able heart who defeated by overall in her life.
- "Let me go." (Amy P.O.V) In this diction the author tells the readers that the character is give up of her life, she wants to end up her life;suicide. So 100% the character is not going to another palce.
In conclusion, this script of drama by Eric Chandler has some diction that easily interprets by the readers to know the diction is implicit or have more than one meaning but it stated indirectly.
